Private Residence – The Swimming Pool Garden
This project involved the comprehensive design and enhancement of the new swimming pool area and its surrounding gardens. The design integrated the areas adjacent to the barn, the existing lawn within the ha-ha, and associated planted borders. The aim was to create a practical, aesthetically pleasing, and coherent outdoor space that aligns with the rural character of the property.
The design and installation included the pool coping and surrounding areas, as well as the paved terrace areas adjacent to the new swimming pool. A sun terrace was created with space for four sun loungers.
A new layout was designed to facilitate practical access and use of the swimming pool area.
Green screening was implemented to provide privacy for the swimming pool area from the main house through the form of planting. Practical access lighting and aesthetic ambient lighting were incorporated in the swimming pool area and surrounding spaces.
An irrigation system was designed and implemented for all planted areas to ensure efficient water usage and maintenance. Existing planting throughout the spaces was revitalised, ensuring the new design was fresh and appealing. The planting style was informal yet neat and smart, with the inclusion of structural plants.
The planting scheme provided seasonal interest and focused on a colour palette of whites, soft colours, and plenty of greens. Evergreen plants were included for year-round structure.
Traditional materials that are sympathetic in texture and colour to the rural location of the property were used. All hard landscaping elements linked together cohesively, maintaining a balanced flow throughout the garden.
