Creating an Inviting Area Perfect for Socialising
After an extensive home renovation, this property required a garden redesign that seamlessly complemented the new structure and catered to the family’s diverse needs. The project transformed the outdoor space into a practical and inviting area perfect for socialising and relaxation.
The project commenced with the removal of a large fir tree hedge along the property boundary, opening up the driveway and side areas of the house to prepare them for the new landscape design. Planting areas were reconfigured, and additional parking space for four cars was integrated into the new driveway layout and surfacing. Special care was taken to preserve a significant Oak tree under a Tree Preservation Order. The design also featured accessible pathways on both sides of the house, utilising materials consistent with the rear terracing.
In the rear garden, the design focused on catering to various age groups within the family, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor integration for social gatherings. A spacious terrace was created to accommodate at least ten people for dining and relaxation. Special consideration was given to creating “secret” spaces for children to explore.
The design included diverse seating areas, a water feature, and personal touches such as Cornish stones. To address privacy concerns from neighboring properties, screening elements were incorporated. Additionally, garden lighting and irrigation systems were installed to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
