An Outdoor Oasis to Entertain and Relax
Working alongside the acclaimed design studio, Nettles & Petals, we transformed this stunning Hampshire garden into a hedonistic, buzzy escape for a growing family in need of an outdoor oasis to both entertain and relax.
A core focus of this project was to emulate an ease of transition between house, pool, terrace and green space. But too, we were briefed to create dynamism, interest and retain balance between all of these elements. The design of the boundary wall between pool and landscape is one demonstration of this. With arrow-slit windows, the wall allows slithers of light to permeate the West-facing terrace, creating a peaceful spot for loungers to enjoy the evening sun.
Built with matching brickwork, a practically positioned pool house means everything that could be required is within reach. With steps then leading to the beautiful, naturally filtered pool, it is here an element of exoticism is brought in, also with its distinctly tranquil feel. The feature arch at one end of the pool is truly striking to the eye. The breathtaking feel of the space is only increased by the pool’s elevated position and exceptional views over the garden. Yet the transitional nature of the space is clear; the bespoke outdoor kitchen, featuring granite worktops and a Belfast sink, lends itself perfectly to hosting, while the surrounding terrace offers plenty of room for socialising.
For that post-party relaxation, the sunken, cedar-clad hot tub is on hand. Sitting within its own Iroko deck, the bespoke bench behind it not only offers yet another seating area, but also has additional storage space.
The entire project is an embodiment of the harmony of practicality, tranquility and busy life. There is warmth, longevity and style; just what our clients were looking for.
